Best interior paint for walls and ceilings in Ireland?
Hi everyone, I'm planning to repaint my living room and hallway soon. The walls have some minor imperfections, and the ceiling needs a fresh coat too. What interior paints would you recommend that give good coverage, don't show brush/roller marks easily, and are durable enough for a home with kids? Also, matte vs silk – what do most people prefer these days for living spaces? Any brands or specific lines you've had good results with? Thanks!

For walls with minor imperfections I usually go for a decent matt emulsion – it hides flaws much better than silk or eggshell. Coverage-wise, I've found that mid-range paints around €40-55 for 10L do the job without needing 3 coats. Recently tried some from Paintlab and was pleasantly surprised how well it went on both walls and ceiling – smooth application, low odour, and the white ceiling paint didn't yellow quickly.

Not the cheapest, but definitely better than the bargain stuff that needs endless touch-ups. I’d stick with matt for most rooms unless it's a high-traffic area. What are you leaning towards?
